  • 2024: Bell was honored and re-designated as a “California & National Schools to Watch,” a state’s top honor for high-performing middle schools and a "California Distinguished School," further solidifying its reputation for excellence. Bell was also recognized as a "California Honor Roll School" for our high achievement in student success.
  • 2022: Ranked among the best in California by U.S. News & World Report, Bell was placed at No. 171 out of 2,319 middle schools in California. This ranking was based on the U.S. Department of Education's math and reading proficiency data.
  • 2021: Bell was recognized as a California Distinguished School, one of only 11 schools in Orange County and just over 100 statewide to receive this prestigious recognition. Bell was also re-designated as a “California & National Schools to Watch,” a state’s top honor for high-performing middle schools.

Bell Intermediate boasts a longstanding record of academic excellence, with students consistently outperforming county and state averages in rigorous state testing. The school offers Advanced Learner Programs (ALP), Honors English Language Arts, and Advanced Math classes.

Moreover, Bell provides exceptional elective programs, including music, drama, dance, photography, art, ASB, STEM, and AVID, promoting a college and career readiness culture and equipping students with tools for success in high school and beyond.

Bell implements Positive Behavior Intervention & Support (PBIS) structures to enhance the climate and culture on campus. Various student clubs, such as the Science Explorers Club, Animal Amigos, Arts & Crafts, Fellowship, GSA (Genders & Sexualities Alliance), Dance, California Junior Scholastic Federation (CJSF), Bell Buddies, Music, and Club D.C., ensure student connectedness.
